34-year-old man dies in Northeast DC shooting Saturday

A fatal shooting occurred in Northeast D.C. on Saturday night, claiming the life of a 34-year-old man. According to a news release, the incident unfolded around 9:10 p.m., prompting officers to respond to the 1300 block of Florida Avenue, Northeast, following reports of a shooting victim. At the scene, authorities discovered Daniel Lamont Adams, 34, of Southeast, D.C., receiving treatment from D.C. Fire and EMS for multiple gunshot wounds in front of the fire station on Florida Avenue.

Adams was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The shooting itself occurred approximately four blocks away in the 1700 block of Benning Road, as stated by the police.
