FBI employee carjacked in DC, police say

In a concerning incident, an FBI employee’s vehicle was carjacked in Washington D.C. around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers responded to the report of an armed carjacking of a federal employee on 12th Street NE. The victim informed the police that two suspects forcibly took control of their vehicle.

Fortunately, the vehicle was recovered relatively quickly at 4:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of 15th Street SE, located less than a mile from the site of the carjacking. Both the FBI Washington Field Office and the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force are actively investigating the incident.

The incident has raised alarm among residents, with one woman expressing her disbelief, stating, “It’s really out of control, they’re stealing FBI cars now. It’s crazy.” The daring act of carjacking involving an FBI employee’s vehicle underscores the urgency and severity of the situation, prompting a comprehensive investigation by law enforcement authorities.
