A week after trying to link Jimmy Kimmel to Jeffery Epstein’s list, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers returned to The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday to clear the air — but never said sorry.
In his weekly paid spot, Rodgers ranted and raved about COVID and conspiracy theories before issuing a non-apology for his remarks about the late-night host.
“I am glad that Jimmy is not on the list, I really am,“ Rodgers said. “I wish him the best. I don’t give a sh*t what he says about me, just as long as he understands what I said.”
The four-time MVP also said that he does not approve of people calling Kimmel a pedophile or any other name due to what he said last week.
“I hope you will give the same energy to these heinous crimes when they do come out,” Rodgers said, his comment directed at Kimmel. “That you gave to other subjects that I actually mentioned that you gave a lot of time that you were working on.”
QAaron seemed more irked at the fact that ESPN’s PR chief Mike Foss characterized his Kimmel “joke” as being “dumb and factually incorrect.”
Rodgers said the feud between himself and Kimmel dates back to “COVID times” when the signal-caller’s immunization status was regularly the fodder for late-night TV shows.
Last night during his monologue, Kimmel — who threatened to sue the ayahuasca enthusiast — went scorched earth on “Karen” Rodgers.
“When you hear a guy who won a Super Bowl and did all the State Farm commercials say something like this. A lot of people believe – a lot of delusional people honestly believe – I am meeting up with Tom Hanks and Oprah Winfrey once a week to eat pizza and drink the blood of children.
“I know this because I hear from these people often my wife hears from them. My kids hear from my poor mailman years from these people. And now we’re hearing from lots more of them, thanks to Aaron Rodgers, who I guess believes one of two things. Either he actually believes my name was going to be on Epstein’s list, which is insane, or the more likely scenario is he doesn’t actually believe that. He just said it because he’s mad at me for making fun of his top knot and his lies about being vaccinated.”
Any hope that McAfee would reign in his guest this week went out the window.
McAfee opened his show Tuesday by saying that he and his crew are “just some guys” and their opinions do not reflect the thoughts or ideas of ESPN, which airs his show.
“To be honest, I know there’s a lot of people writing that I just let anybody say anything,” McAfee said. “I just let a first-ballot Hall of Famer who’s the best football thrower in the history of football say whatever opinions they would like to have. I think that’s considered journalism. We’re learning more about one of the greatest athletes of all time, I think, than we ever have in the past. I know you suits are going to say a bit different.”
