Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on CeeDee Lamb, Rashod Bateman, Cole Beasley, more WRs affecting Week 9 start 'em, sit 'em decisions

The Week 9 injury report is a mess for virtually every position, with none getting hit as hard as WR. For the early-afternoon games, CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, Rashod Bateman, Cole Beasley, and Kenny Golladay are all “questionable,” with most looking like legit game-time decisions. Fantasy start ’em, sit ’em decisions will hang in the balance, and we’ll be here with the latest news and updates until kickoff on Sunday morning.

WEEK 9 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

Is CeeDee Lamb playing Week 9?

Lamb (ankle) looks truly “questionable” after missing practice on Thursday and getting in a limited session on Friday. This is apparently a new injury for Lamb, who suffered the setback during practice on Wednesday. He’ll be a game-time decision for the Cowboys’ matchup against the Broncos.

If Lamb is out, it’s tough to know what to say about Dallas’s other receivers. Amari Cooper (hamstring) is also “questionable,” and Michael Gallup (calf) is unofficially “questionable” as he waits to come off the IR. Whoever plays will have considerable value in Dallas’s high-powered offense. Assuming Lamb is active, he remains a must-start.

WEEK 9 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Is Rashod Bateman playing Week 9?

Bateman (groin) didn’t practice on Friday, but Ravens’ coach John Harbaugh said Friday that the injury was a “minor physical issue” and implied Bateman had a good chance of suiting up against the Vikings.

The rookie wide receiver has been a solid producer the past few games, but with Sammy Watkins (hamstring) also “questionable” and possibly suiting up, Bateman’s outlook is a little cloudier. If Bateman is active, consider him a flex, especially if Watkins is also active. If Bateman is out and Watkins is active, consider the veteran WR a low-end, deep-league flex.

WEEK 9 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Is Kenny Golladay playing Week 9?

Golladay (knee) was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, but beat writer Dan Duggan from The Athletic reported Saturday that Golladay is expected to play against the Raiders this week.

With Sterling Shepard (quad) out, Golladay should be in line for regular targets. However, the Giants’ receiver situation has been a mess all year, largely because of injuries. It’s always tough to know how things will work out, but Golladay has at least flex value given his touchdown upside. If he’s out, expect a lot of targets for Kadarius Toney and New York’s tight ends.

Is Cole Beasley playing Week 9?

Beasley (ribs) managed to get in a limited session on Friday after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He’s officially “questionable” for Buffalo’s game against Jacksonville.

It’s possible Buffalo is more likely to hold out Beasley given the inferior opponent, but the late-week upgrade is a good sign. If Beasley plays, he’ll be a solid WR3/high-end flex in all formats. If he’s out, Gabriel Davis would get a big bump in value, as his arrow was already pointing up thanks to the absence of TE Dawson Knox (hand).

Is Amari Cooper playing Week 9?

Cooper (hamstring) doesn’t appear to be as “questionable” as Lamb, but he’s nonetheless listed that way ahead of Dallas’ game against Denver. The veteran receiver got in limited practices all week

Cooper’s situation is similar to Lamb’s. If he plays, he’s a must-start. He could have even more value if Lamb and/or Gallup is out. If Cooper is out, Gallup (if he plays) will have WR3/flex value, but TE Dalton Schultz could also benefit, too. Chances are, you won’t have to worry about Cooper, though, so slot him into your lineup for now.
