Is A.J. Brown playing on Sunday night? Fantasy injury update for Titans-Rams Week 9 Sunday Night Football

Is A.J. Brown playing on Monday night? Fantasy injury update for Bills-Titans Week 6 Monday Night Football

It’s not a surprise to see A.J. Brown on the Titans’ final injury report in any given week, but usually he’s not viewed as truly “questionable.” However, heading into Week 9’s Sunday Night Football showdown with the Rams, Brown looks like a legit game-time decision, and his status will certainly cause a lot of start ’em, sit ’em headaches for his fantasy football owners. Knowing the latest updates will be key as you wait to put the finishing touches on your lineup and find out if Brown is playing.

We’ll continue to update this article with news on Brown up until the official active/inactive report comes out on Sunday around 6:50 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Is A.J. Brown playing on Sunday night?

Brown (knee) practiced normally on Wednesday and Thursday this week, but a “DNP” on Friday has his status in question for Sunday night’s game. A late-week dowgrade is always worrisome, but Brown reportedly didn’t seem overly concerned when he spoke with the media on Friday. Still, fantasy owners have to be prepared for Brown to be inactive on Sunday night.

WEEK 9 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

There aren’t a lot of viable pivots if Brown is inactive. The best widely available option would be L.A.’s Van Jefferson, but you could also see if Chicago’s Darnell Mooney (groin) is on the free agent wire in your league. Worst-case scenario, you could try a Tennessee backup like Josh Reynolds or Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and just hope for a touchdown. You could also go for Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth if you’ve left your flex spot open.

WEEK 9 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

If Brown is active, he’s a must-start. There are some minor worries about the injury and a possible matchup with Jalen Ramsey, but Brown has proven he can produce against anyone. He’s simply too good to sit, which is why we recommend waiting for him. That said, it’s fair to expect a few more targets for Julio Jones, who’s not even on the Titans’ injury report after missing last week’s game because of a sore hamstring.
