O’Brien’s association with Belichick goes beyond his recent role with the Patriots. He has a history of working in various capacities under Belichick, showcasing their professional connection. Before returning to the Patriots, O’Brien had a stint as the offensive coordinator at Alabama in the 2021-22 seasons. His coaching career also includes a significant tenure as the head coach of the Houston Texans from 2014 to 2020.
