Robert Saleh doesn't care what Aaron Rodgers says on the Pat McAfee Show

B.S. for me, but not for thee.

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh gave quarterback Aaron Rodgers the Gang Green light for all future appearances on The Pat McAfee Show during his weekly Monday appearance on Michael Kay’s program. The comments came hours after Rodgers held a postseason press conference for the Jets where he declared the Jets had to “flush the bullsh*t” in 2024.

“Anything in this building that we’re doing individually or collectively that has nothing to do with real winning needs to be assessed,” Rodgers told reporters Monday. “If you want to be a winning organization and put yourself in position to win championships and be competitive, everything that you do matters. And the bullsh*t that has nothing to do with winning needs to get out of the building. So that’ll be the focus moving forward. That’s the focus of these [exit interviews].”

Rodgers also deflected any questions about his comments insinuating late-night host Jimmy Kimmel would appear on the Epstein list, teasing that he would address the matter on his Tuesday appearance on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show.

For Saleh, those TV appearances don’t count as the “bullsh*t” Rodgers is referring to.

“You know what, I think — I’m not gonna speak for him, but I am, in this small, little segment. When we refer to ‘BS,’ we refer to everything inside the walls,” Saleh said during Monday’s edition of The Michael Kay Show. “I promise you. I don’t think anyone really cares about — inside these walls, his teammates — no one cares about the McAfee Show. I think that’s more just noise for the outside world. But just the things in here, and the things that we need to do better. As an organization, as players, as coaches, all of us, in terms of stop sweating the small stuff, and let’s worry about winning football games.

“Pat McAfee’s show is entertainment,” Saleh continued. “It’s what he does. He makes good money off it; good for him. And they’ve put together a good product. But at the same time, I promise you nobody really cares about what’s said on The Pat McAfee Show.”

Kay then directly asked Saleh if the “conspiracy stuff” distracts the locker room, specifically addressing the current headlines tied to Rodgers’ Kimmel-Epstein situation. Saleh once again deflected, calling it “entertaining conversation.”

“It makes for entertaining conversation, but it’s not like ‘Oh my God,’” Saleh said. “There’s nothing dramatic. I mean, you guys should sit down and talk to him about holistic foods and all that. It’s a fascinating conversation, to be honest with you… There’s nothing negative about it. It’s just how you approach it, and I don’t think anybody in the locker room that with negativity.”

This, of course, predated Rodgers’ actual appearance on McAfee’s show Tuesday. In addition to not apologizing to Kimmel for insinuating he is a pedophile, Rodgers also spent about half of his first block of airtime ranting about the efficacy of COVID vaccines, alternate remedies, and Dr. Fauci “misinformation.”
