DC teacher accused of exposing himself in apartment complex

The D.C. public school system has taken action against an elementary school teacher, placing him on leave and launching an investigation following disturbing allegations made by his apartment complex. While the teacher has not been criminally charged and is not accused of inappropriate behavior with children, the nature of the allegations has raised concerns.

Houston Elementary School in Northeast D.C. addressed the situation in a statement released to parents, confirming that the teacher is on leave pending an investigation. The News4 I-Team obtained letters sent to the teacher on behalf of attorneys representing the D.C. apartment complex where he resides. According to these letters from Bozzuto Management, the teacher is accused of recording lewd acts in public spaces within the apartment building and sharing them on social media.

The letters detail instances of the teacher walking nude in common areas, exercising nude in the gym in front of other tenants, and engaging in inappropriate activities. Bozzuto Management deemed these actions a violation of the lease agreement and banned the teacher from public spaces within the building. Additionally, the management company informed the teacher of their intention to file a lawsuit and begin eviction proceedings.

Residents in the apartment complex expressed their concern, particularly since there are children in the building. While the allegations do not involve children, the situation has garnered attention, with a resident calling the behavior “disgusting” and urging management to address the issue.

The vice principal of Houston Elementary School reassured parents in a letter that the allegations do not involve children. The staff member in question is on leave and will not return while the matter is under review. The News4 I-Team confirmed that the teacher joined DCPS (D.C. Public Schools) in 2000.
