Housing Policy Council executive in critical condition after being shot in DC crime spree

Mike Gill, a married father of three, is in critical condition after reportedly being shot during a crime spree on Monday night. The incident took place in the 900 block of K Street NW around 5:45 p.m., according to Gill’s family. The suspect allegedly entered Gill’s car, shot him, and then fled the scene. Gill serves as the senior vice president for Capital Markets at the Housing Policy Council and has previously been the Republican representative on the D.C. Board of Elections.

After shooting Gill, the suspect is believed to have stolen a Chrysler 200 and shot and killed the car owner on the 1000 block of 3rd Street NE, according to Metropolitan Police Department officials. The suspect was shot and killed by two New Carrollton police officers on Tuesday morning.
